| HealthUnity® named as finalist for 2007 MS-HUG Annual Awards | | | Bellevue, WA - February 6, 2007 - HealthUnity®, a leading enabler of collaboration technology for building health information networks, announced today that it has been named as a finalist in the interoperability category for the prestigious 2007 Microsoft Healthcare User Group (MS-HUG) awards.

HealthUnity was named finalist in conjunction with Erickson Retirement Communities and Erickson HealthSM. Erickson Retirement Communities is the nation´s leading builder and manager of moderately priced continuing care retirement communities with a nationwide network of campuses serving more than 18,000 people. Erickson HealthSM is the nation´s largest integrated health care and wellness system for older adults, consisting of an array of healthcare and wellness services integrated within each Erickson community, including resident staff geriatricians and specialized activities to help residents stay healthy and fit.
HealthUnity and Erickson are being recognized based on the groundbreaking work by the two organizations in providing electronic interoperability between Erickson's on-site medical centers located in each of their campuses and their affiliated hospitals. The first deployment of the HealthUnity system in Baltimore MD links St. Agnes Hospital, a 309-bed community hospital, to Erickson´s Charlestown retirement community. The secure network allows the exchange of demographic information, problem lists, medications, allergies, discharge summaries and clinical summaries between the two facilities.
On a longer term basis, Erickson has plans in place for a 3-year phased rollout of HealthUnity-powered networks across Erickson´s other facilities and over 30 affiliated hospitals, and over 100 specialty practices that serve Erickson residents.
